FACILITY OVERVIEW Opened and dedicated on Jan. 27, 1998, the center proudly bears the name of the late Senator Paul E. Tsongas, a Lowell native. We are one of Massachusetts finest venues providing quality entertainment for all ages. The center is home to the NCAA Division I UMass-Lowell River Hawks hockey team http://www.goriverhawks.com In addition to exciting hockey action, the center hosts concerts, family shows, sporting events, tradeshows and conferences. Some of the world's biggest stars have performed before capacity crowds. We can seat 6,500 patrons for hockey and up to 7,800 for concerts without losing the intimate feeling needed for a memorable experience. The Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell is a full service, multi-purpose, mid-sized venue serving the region.
